3 min read
Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh: Indian weddings are known for their grandeur, rich traditions, and innovative celebrations. From lavish cars to helicopters, families often go the extra mile to ensure the groom’s procession, or ‘baraat,’ is an unforgettable spectacle. However, a wedding in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi took this tradition to a whole new level when the groom made his grand entry on a JCB bulldozer.
A Wedding Procession Unlike Any Other
Traditionally, grooms arrive at their wedding venues in luxury cars, horses, or even helicopters. However, Rahul Yadav’s family decided to break convention by incorporating heavy machinery into the festivities. In a viral video, the groom can be seen making his way to the wedding venue on a JCB, followed by a procession of nearly a dozen bulldozers. The sight left guests and onlookers astonished before excitement took over, and many began recording the unique procession.
The bride, Karishma, bid a tearful farewell to her family before stepping into the decorated car to embark on her new journey. But what followed was something no one had expected—her ‘bidaai’ was marked by the roaring engines of bulldozers, an unprecedented twist to wedding traditions.

Why a ‘Bulldozer Wedding’?
Bulldozers have been in the spotlight in Uttar Pradesh, particularly due to their use in anti-encroachment drives under the Yogi Adityanath-led government. However, in this case, they became a symbol of celebration rather than demolition. The unusual choice of vehicles quickly earned the event the nickname “Bulldozer Wedding” on social media.
Explaining the idea behind the unconventional send-off, the groom’s uncle, Ramkumar, told reporters, “These are Babaji’s bulldozers, and we thought of doing a different kind of ‘bidaai’ that would stand out. We are very happy. People usually use cars or helicopters, but since we own JCBs, we thought this would be special.”
Groom Rahul Yadav also expressed his enthusiasm about the unique wedding procession, stating, “We wanted to do something different that people would remember. The bulldozer is quite popular in Uttar Pradesh, so we decided to incorporate it into our wedding.”
Social Media Reacts
As videos of the JCB-led procession surfaced online, social media users were quick to react, with many appreciating the creativity and humor behind the decision. Some lauded the groom’s family for their ingenuity, while others found the choice amusing given the political connotations of bulldozers in the state.
Rahul’s wife, Karishma, embraced the unexpected farewell with joy, stating that the grand gesture made the day even more memorable.
From luxury cars to bulldozers, Indian weddings continue to evolve with ever more creative and extraordinary celebrations. This ‘Bulldozer Wedding’ has certainly set a new precedent for unique baraat entries, leaving netizens both entertained and impressed.
