Hyderabad: An Instagram influencer, known as Anchor Chandu, has been arrested for a dangerous publicity stunt that caused chaos on Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR). In a video that quickly went viral, Chandu is seen throwing Rs 20,000 in cash onto the roadside and urging his followers to participate in a “money hunt” challenge.
The reckless act, which took place on the busy highway, led to a traffic jam and posed a serious threat to road safety as people scrambled to collect the scattered cash. The Rachakonda Police swiftly responded, sharing the video on X and announcing Chandu’s arrest.
“This irresponsible act caused chaos, inconvenience, and posed a significant threat to road safety. Such reckless acts not only endanger lives but also set a bad example for others. Social media should be a platform to inspire and educate, not to act irresponsibly,” the police stated in their X post.
